July Disability Pride Month

 

Every July is Disability Pride Month in the US. It commemorates the landmark passing in July 1990 of the Americans with Disabilities Act/ ADA.

 

The DPM colors are a black background and across the flag are five zigzag lines of blue, yellow, white, red, and green.    

 

Diagonal lines - represent lighting blots, while each color symbolizes embodies the uniqueness of the disability community.

 

There are many disabilities– some disabilities are not so visible.
